My love of international travel began before I was born. Seriously… true story!
It began with my “friend since before we were born” (our moms were pregnant at the same time). We burst into the world as friends who made a third-grade pact to travel to Europe for the first time together. Fast forward two decades and we did just that. I stopped in Paris on my way to a river boat cruise from Basal, Switzerland to Amsterdam.
And… I was in love!
In love with history come alive,
In love with culture,
In love with cuisine and international cinema,
In love with interesting people who help you make the best adventures.
This love has led me on exciting journeys through Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Europe. I have had both adventures and mis-adventures. I’ve found great spots for eating, drinking, shopping, surfing, and more.
My most famous quote is “Be Where You Are”. This means taking off your watch, putting the smart phone away and taking the time to immerse yourself in the country, city or village where you are traveling.
